# Abstract

NFTs are a useful model of ownership of a digital asset, and 3D NFTs are becoming more popular. But real-world sculptures and experiences are inextricably tied to a physical location and their surroundings. NFTs are ephemeral, only existing on websites and in wallets, outside of any physical context. The GeoSpatialRegistry is a proposal for a decentralized way to publish the real-world location of a digital asset or experience, declare how it ought to be displayed at that location, and do so across blockchains and centralized data stores.
